Position Summary
The Technical Training Content Developer is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining technical training content that supports employee development, operational excellence, safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across the organization. Reporting to the Technical Training Supervisor, this role partners closely with Operations, EHS, Quality, Engineering, HR, and other cross-functional teams to create engaging, standardized learning content and administer the Company's Learning Management System (LMS).
This position plays a key role in supporting Cibo Vita's vision of building a world-class technical training program by translating operational processes into effective, easy-to-understand training materials that drive employee knowledge, consistency, and performance.
Responsibilities
• Training Content Development
o Design, develop, update, and maintain technical training materials for manufacturing, warehouse, quality, engineering, maintenance, safety, food safety, and other operational functions.
o Create engaging training content using presentations, videos, job aids, work instructions, quizzes, assessments, and other multimedia learning resources.
o Upload, organize, maintain, and continuously improve training content within the Learning Management System (LMS).
o Ensure all training materials are standardized, accurate, visually engaging, and aligned with company branding and instructional design best practices.
o Work with translators or translation software to ensure all training content is available in both English and Spanish. Coordinate additional language translations as business needs require.
• Cross-Functional Partnership
o Partner with Operations, EHS, QA, HR, Engineering, Maintenance, and department leaders to identify training needs and develop effective learning solutions.
o Observe work processes on the production floor and translate technical procedures into clear, engaging, and effective training content.
o Review and update training materials as equipment, processes, regulations, or business needs change.
• Compliance & Technical Documentation
o Ensure training content aligns with regulatory requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), OSHA requirements, food safety standards, SOPs, and company policies.
o Utilize machine manuals, technical specifications, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), SOPs, and other technical documentation to develop accurate and compliant training materials.
• Learning Management System (LMS)
o Support the administration, organization, and continuous improvement of the Learning Management System in partnership with the Technical Training Supervisor.
o Maintain course libraries, training records, user assignments, and system content.
o Assist with LMS reporting, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Continuous Improvement
o Support the development of standardized training processes and documentation across all facilities.
o Recommend improvements to training content, delivery methods, and learning effectiveness.
o Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Education
• Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Engineering, Industrial Technology, Food Science, Business, or a related field preferred.
Skills & Experience
• 2–5 years of experience developing technical or operational training content preferred.
• Experience within manufacturing, food production, warehouse, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) environments preferred.
• Experience administering or utilizing a Learning Management System (Alchemy preferred) is highly desirable.
• Experience designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining technical training content.
• Ability to administer and manage a Learning Management System (LMS), including course creation, content management, reporting, and user support.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience creating and editing instructional videos and other multimedia learning content.
• Strong written communication and technical writing skills.
• Ability to observe work processes and translate technical information into clear, engaging training materials for diverse audiences.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Collaborative team player with the ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies is preferred.
• Experience with AI-assisted content development tools is a plus.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred, but not required.
• Engineering or other technical manufacturing background is preferred, but not required.
Working Conditions
• Work is performed in both office and manufacturing environments.
• Regular time spent in production and warehouse areas observing work processes and developing training content.
• Must follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety, sanitation, and company safety policies at all times.
• Exposure to manufacturing environments including loud noise, moving machinery, temperature variations, elevated platforms, and other industrial conditions while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Regular travel between Cibo Vita's Totowa facilities is required.
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods as business needs dictate.
