TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Bridgeport, West Virginia, 26330!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: RN must be able to titrate drips. Description: Unit is a cardiac/telemetry unit with 29 beds. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:5-6. Common diagnoses include cardiac patients, post-catheterization, acute myocardial infarction, post-operative lung surgeries, respiratory failure, and patients with chest tubes and pacemakers. RNs manage titratable drips such as Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Integrelin, Heparin, Ativan, Lasix, and Nitro. Charge nurse is available 24/7; charge nurse on nights takes patient assignments. There is a designated number of nursing assistants on the unit, ideally 1 CNA for every 12 patients. Respiratory therapy manages CPAP and BiPAP equipment; nurses do not manage these. Telemetry monitoring is managed by Philips monitors; RNs must interpret telemetry strips. Schedule consists of 12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. Travelers are required to work every other weekend and participate in the holiday rotation. Travelers may float to other MedSurg/Telemetry units as needed. Dress code requires royal blue scrubs for RNs. This position requires strong assessment and critical thinking skills due to the nature of patient care on the unit.
