Position: Emergency Medicine Physician Advisor – Venture Capital Fund: Healthcare Shares ( Location: Remote Commitment: Part-Time (2–3 hours/month) Compensation: Carried Interest in Venture Capital Fund About the Physician Advisor Role Healthcare Shares is seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician Advisor to provide frontline clinical insight into our investment strategy, evaluate emerging healthcare technologies, and support portfolio companies. This role is designed for practicing or former emergency physicians who want exposure to venture capital while helping shape the future of acute care innovation. Key Responsibilities Clinical Diligence: Evaluate startups through the lens of emergency care (triage, patient flow, high-acuity workflows) Investment Evaluation: Assess opportunities across AI diagnostics, tele-triage, and acute care technologies Portfolio Guidance: Advise founders on ED workflows, hospital integration, and provider adoption Market Insight: Identify trends in emergency medicine, urgent care, and hospital operations Network Access: Connect the fund with clinicians, hospital systems, and strategic partners Qualifications MD or DO with Emergency Medicine training Active clinical practice preferred Strong understanding of ED workflows and hospital systems Familiarity with reimbursement and regulatory dynamics Interest in digital health and venture capital Benefits Carried Interest: Participate in fund upside VC Exposure: Direct involvement in deal flow and investment decisions Impact: Shape technologies used in emergency and acute care Flexible Commitment: ~2–3 hours per month About Healthcare Shares Healthcare Shares is a venture capital fund investing in digital health, medical technology, and healthcare innovation.
