THE POSITION

The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is looking for a Clerical Assistant 2 who enjoys teamwork and staying organized. In this position, you will help manage office tasks, support park operations, and assist with training and communication. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports the administrative and operational needs of the park by assisting with clerical work, staff coordination, and public communication.

As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:

• Office Coordination: Support the Aspira reservation system, assist volunteers, relay new procedures, and help staff access park computer systems
• Administrative Support: Handle clerical tasks involving operations, human resources, payroll, revenue, and training while managing confidential issues
• Public Interaction: Answer calls, greet visitors, interpret park rules, and handle public relations challenges with sound judgment
• Record Management: Maintain park files, process payroll and leave entries, prepare schedules, and organize employee information accurately
• Fiscal Assistance: Help collect revenue, process refunds, analyze receipts, and support budget preparation and expenditure tracking
• Communication Duties: Operate the base radio system, dispatch vehicles, respond to routine transmissions, and act as a contact point during emergencies

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full time employment
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Days and shifts will vary.
  • Will work 5 days/37.5 hrs per week to include holidays and weekends
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Graduation from high school; o r
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.
