Clean Energy Instruments Portfolio Lead, Sustainability

Lead strategic and technical oversight for our clean electricity carbon reduction strategy, including procurement of energy instruments.Work cross-functionally to develop and drive the execution of clean energy and carbon reduction strategies in pursuit of Google’s sustainability commitments.Work with our technical teams to build the analytics, business intelligence, and tools necessary for tracking, forecasting, and reporting to support decisions and leadership reviews.Lead efforts with external experts and industry partners to drive progress on the broader ecosystem required for our program’s success.Minimum qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Technology, Engineering, Science, or equivalent practical experience.8 years of experience in management consulting, business operations, business strategy, or corporate advisory with a focus on energy markets or grid infrastructure.Experience leading teams and groups of internal stakeholders.Preferred qualifications:Master's degree in Technology, Engineering, Science, or a related field.8 years of experience in climate science, Greenhouse Gas (GHG) standards and accounting.Experience leading and executing complex and operational initiatives for large organizations.Proficient in analysis of large data sets and policy research to deliver insights and decisions.Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and compelling communications for cross-functional and executive leadership audiences.A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. As part of these efforts, you will work with various teams to obtain data, interpret it into actionable insights, and drive emissions reduction initiatives to support and guide our clean energy and other strategic efforts. You will also be responsible for providing relevant metrics, portfolio insights and analysis to support and guide our clean energy strategic efforts. Through collaboration with key stakeholders, you will help to shape our perspective on carbon emissions mitigation and enable the broader carbon reduction ecosystem.The Global Sustainability team enables Google to build a more sustainable future for everyone by driving strategy and solutions. We drive the development and implementation of Google’s global sustainability strategy to further empower action, ensure alignment and prioritization, identify leadership opportunities, and mitigate risks. We drive sustainability strategy and programs on carbon, circular economy, water, product integration, reporting, and employee engagement, while serving as a sustainability leadership advocate internally and externally.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
