Job Summary: The Emergency Medical Science Department at Red Rocks Community College is seeking a student worker to assist the EMS Program Specialist with student clinical and internship placements, compliance requirements, clinical partnerships, affiliated EMS programs, and department activities. Responsibilities include assisting with clinical and internship scheduling; collecting, organizing, tracking, and maintaining required student documentation; maintaining clinical affiliation records; and preparing forms, spreadsheets, correspondence, and other program materials. The student worker may also support affiliated EMS programs, student employment activities, advisory meetings, career fairs, EMS graduation ceremonies, and other department activities. Because the position may involve access to student educational records and other confidential information, the student worker must maintain confidentiality, follow college and department procedures, and exercise appropriate judgment when handling records. When primary responsibilities are completed, the student worker may assist with equipment and supply organization, laboratory and simulation readiness, ambulance stocking, and other logistical activities. The position works closely with the EMS Program Specialist, faculty, and staff and requires independence, organization, sound judgment, and appropriate referral of matters to designated personnel. The position reports to EMS Department leadership, with a variable schedule based on program needs, including possible hours outside traditional classroom schedules. Work occurs primarily at the Lakewood campus and designated training sites. This is a student employee position. This position may work up to 20 hours each week while class is in session and up to 28 hours each week during academic breaks or breaks between terms while an RRCC student, depending on class schedule, need, and budget availability. Student employees are enrolled and contribute to a TIAA-CREF account when enrolled in less than six credits. Students who qualify for work study employment are encouraged to apply. Must be enrolled in at least half-time (6 credit hours) and meet Satisfactory Academic Progress for all credit hours. For student hourly employment: Must be an RRCC student and enrolled in at least half-time (6 credit hours). Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook PowerPoint) and have advanced computer skills and experience with virtual meeting platforms (Zoom/Webex etc.). Must be reliable, punctual and have a good work ethic. Must be a self-starter with time-management skills and a strong attention to detail. Ability to work from campus (Lakewood campus location) and be eligible for student employment. Physical & Cognitive Demands The following are some of the physical and cognitive demands commonly associated with this position. Occasionally moves, positions, and transports files and office materials weighing up to 50 lbs. This is largely a sedentary role. This position operates in an office environment and constantly uses a computer, and routinely uses standard office equipment including phones, copiers, etc. The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.
