Position Overview

We are seeking a talented, highly technical Senior Analytics Engineer to join our core Analytics Engineering team within the centralized Data Science organization. In this leadership seat, you will serve as the principal analytics engineering authority for the Sales and Marketing domain. Acting as a load-bearing conduit between upstream Data Producers and downstream Data Consumers, you will take absolute ownership of curating, modeling, and deploying advanced data assets and analytical frameworks. This role sits directly at the intersection of Data Science and Data Engineering, demanding a seasoned professional who can handle massive structured and unstructured datasets, implement reliable pipeline guardrails, and foster a self-service data culture across thousands of cross-functional team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Domain Data Stewardship: Architect, refactor, and maintain the underlying data collection boundaries and warehouse models for the Sales and Marketing business organizations.
• Enterprise Pipeline Engineering: Design, build, and optimize complex, highly available batch and real-time ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL, Apache Spark, and Scala .
• Workflow Orchestration: Program, schedule, and automate sophisticated data ingestion and transformation graphs using orchestration frameworks like Apache Airflow .
• Analytical Applications & Tools: Code internal data visualization surfaces, semantic reporting models, and custom data applications leveraging Looker, Tableau, Streamlit, or D3.js to eliminate manual analytics loops.
• Self-Service Data Democratization: Lead transformational platform initiatives to enable data self-service across marketing, sales management, and product teams, driving data consistency and governance.
• Cross-Functional Thought Partnership: Act as a primary technical advisor to Data Scientists, Engineering Managers, and executive leadership, shaping Reddit’s long-term data foundations strategy and infrastructure roadmap.
• Technical Mentorship: Provide structured technical guidance, system code reviews, and framework coaching to junior analytics engineers and quantitative data scientists.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• An Advanced Degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in a highly quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, or Physics.
• Experience Requirements: Minimum of 5+ years of production-grade software industry experience for Master’s degree holders (or 4+ years for Ph.D. holders) implementing, scaling, and maintaining large-scale ETL/ELT architectures.
• Advanced, production-tested programming proficiency writing clean, maintainable systems code using Python and SQL .
• Hands-on experience processing, mining, and aggregating massive-scale structured and unstructured data assets across modern distributed frameworks (such as Spark and MPP Databases ).
• Proven history creating enterprise-level data visualizations, dashboards, and custom reporting matrices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management mechanics, with a verified ability to describe technical data trade-offs clearly to non-technical business leaders.
• Location Context: 100% remote-first full-time operational framework restricted exclusively to qualified data professionals permanently based inside Ontario, Canada .

Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)

• Prior experience operating natively within Sales Analytics, Marketing Attribution funnels, B2B ad-tech frameworks, or advertiser outreach domains.
