About the Position

Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year in an urban, Level I Trauma Emergency Department preferred License: Must have RN license in hand Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS required Must-Have: Prior experience in an urban, Level I Trauma Emergency Department Description: The Emergency Room Registered Nurse will provide care for patients in a fast-paced emergency department environment. The nurse will work with a patient ratio of 1:4 on nights. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for patients with varying acuity levels. Candidates must possess strong clinical skills and be able to manage critical situations effectively. Experience in a teaching hospital is preferred. The nurse will float between different areas within the emergency department as needed. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. The role involves working with diverse patient populations, including neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics. The nurse will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate optimal patient outcomes. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this position. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate competence in various emergency procedures and interventions. Those with experience in trauma care will find this position particularly relevant. All required certifications must be current and valid throughout the duration of employment.
