Job Description
Inspects features of construction/equipment installation, analyzes construction feature equipment interface problems, reviews construction and supply contract documents to assure compatibility and monitors contractor quality control programs.
Conducts quality assurance inspections of in-house and contractor construction projects such as dams, breakwaters, levees, irrigation systems, roads, concrete structures, pavement, docks, buildings and mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems.
Reviews and understands contract specifications, drawings and contractor submittals.
Resolves problems that arise regarding scheduling, coordinating and interpreting contract specifications.
Performs professional engineering studies to evaluate effectiveness of contractor quality assurance programs and recommends, to supervisor, grade to be used in contractor's performance evaluation.
Serves as professional engineering advisor for preparation of findings of fact to be used for negotiation of contract modifications.
Studies and analyzes basic data such as instruction manuals, station logs, maintenance and test records, cost and time reports, etc., in order to facilitate the development of an adequate maintenance program.
Gives assistance to operating and maintenance (O/M) units in solving problems of an engineering design nature arising from operation, maintenance, and construction of the projects.
Reviews construction contract plans and specifications and changes thereto for technical accuracy and sufficiency from a construction viewpoint.
Develops specifications or portion thereof, for various types of contract or hired labor work or for materials and equipment.
