Customs Specialist

Job Overview As a Customs Specialist within our Transport Department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth and compliant customs operations for both inbound and outbound shipments. You will act as a key liaison between our company and external partners such as customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies, managing these relationships with a focus on compliance, accuracy, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Plead post‑entry audits for customs brokers. Advise on improvements and corrective actions. Conduct detailed tariff classification reviews for imported parts. Monitor regulatory updates and adjust relevant systems and documentation. Manage and oversee partner government agency interactions. Support free trade agreement processes from qualification to certification. Maintain internal standard operating procedures. Support audits, compliance requests, and the ongoing enhancement of trade compliance tools. Report and document accurate record‑keeping of import/export filings and performance metrics. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or equivalent professional experience in international business, trade, logistics, or related fields. Familiarity with import/export controls, customs classifications, and regulatory requirements. Experience with SAP and proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Demonstrated problem‑solving abilities, analytical thinking, and capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively. Strong foundation in international trade regulations, import/export compliance, and customs procedures. Effective communication skills and a detail‑oriented mindset.
