Summary Saint Louis VA Health Care System is currently seeking a highly qualified Chiropractor to service our Whole Health System falling under Primary Care Services. The position will be located in St. Louis Missouri with opportunities to serve in nearby clinics and VA facilities. Responsibilities Serve as the Whole Health Staff Chiropractor within the Whole Health System under Primary Care Services at the St. Louis VAMC. Provide effective and timely examination, diagnosis, treatment, and management of neuromuscular and musculoskeletal conditions using non-pharmacologic and non-operative methods. Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary Whole Health team within the VA STLHCS to ensure efficient delivery of chiropractic care and timely access to services. Collaborate with specialties such as physical medicine and rehabilitation, primary care, pain management, and other relevant medical and surgical specialties to provide comprehensive, coordinated care for Veterans. Conduct comprehensive history and physical examinations of Veterans with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal complaints. Use standard medical evaluation and biomechanical assessments to establish diagnoses and formulate management plans. Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies (X‑ray, CT, bone scan, EMG, bone density, MRI) as clinically indicated and within scope of practice. Provide clinical services within the scope of a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC), including joint manipulation/mobilization, soft tissue therapies, and physical modalities. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating manual therapies, modalities, and rehabilitative exercises. Collaborate and refer to other healthcare providers as medically indicated. Deliver or may be trained to deliver Complementary and Integrative Health (CIH) modalities (e.g., acupuncture, dry needling, mind‑body therapies) as permitted within scope and with appropriate approval or training. Monitor patient progress, adjust treatments as needed, and determine appropriate discharge or referral. Apply evidence‑based methods to investigate, evaluate, and improve patient care practices. Participate in quality improvement, peer review, and outcomes monitoring to support continuous learning and practice improvement. Provide patient and family education on self‑care, ergonomics, lifestyle, exercise, and condition training. Demonstrate effectiveness in teaching and monitor and coordinate educational activities in compliance with trainee supervision requirements. May precept or mentor chiropractic students, residents, or fellows as applicable. Participate in staff education regarding musculoskeletal conditions, chiropractic scope of practice, and Whole Health principles. Collaborate with affiliated academic institutions, training programs, or VA research offices to support scholarly activity as opportunities arise. Participate in or support clinical research initiatives related to chiropractic care, musculoskeletal health, and integrative medicine as approved by the institution's Institutional Review Board (IRB). Assist in the collection, documentation, and reporting of data for research studies, quality improvement projects, and evidence‑based practice initiatives. Demonstrate professionalism, continuous professional development, ethical practice, sensitivity to diversity, and a responsible attitude toward patients and the profession. Maintain required licensure, credentialing, and privileging in accordance with VHA policy. Ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards, VHA Directives, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Work Schedule Monday‑Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Not eligible for telework. This is not a virtual position. Preferred Experience Acupuncture certification. Academic appointments or experience working with health professional trainees.
