Opportunity Overview We have an immediate opening for an Embryologist to join our team at Ovation Fertility in Nashville, Tennessee. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; rotating weekends (Saturday/Sunday); 2‑3 holidays per year. In this role, the Embryologist will: Undertake embryology laboratory procedures as directed. Pay special attention to detail with an understanding of the sensitive and confidential nature of ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology) treatment. Comply with HIPAA privacy regulations. Maintain training in the latest technologies, including trophectoderm biopsy, oocyte vitrification, and complex micromanipulation skills. Demonstrate advanced knowledge of reproductive biology and the male and female reproductive system. Exhibit excellent clinical skills and be able to lead and work in a team environment. Handle oocytes, embryos, and semen, including hazardous specimens, safely and competently. Accurately assess and grade oocyte, embryo, and sperm morphology. Perform clerical tasks diligently and follow established protocols and laboratory guidelines. Maintain meticulous data entry into computer databases and software programs. Maintain detailed and accurate patient logs and laboratory reports. Communicate detailed information to patients, staff, and regulatory bodies. Develop and coordinate clinical research projects, including manuscript preparation and editing. Provide support for CAP inspection preparedness and inspections. Obtain additional competency certification through the American Board of Bioanalysis. Communicate professionally and timely with staff, physicians, and patients. Participate in Continuing Technical Improvement exercises. Maintain technical proficiency in routine laboratory procedures. Assist in the preparation of routine and ad hoc analyses of data relating to laboratory and technologist performance and specific research projects. Perform all procedures required for IVF cycles, including medium and dish preparation, egg retrieval, sperm preparation, fertilization check, embryo evaluation, cryopreservation and thawing, transfer, ICSI, and assisted hatching. Experience with trophectoderm biopsy is preferred. Perform all andrology services, including preparation of semen samples for artificial insemination and IVF, cryopreservation of sperm, and complete sperm analysis assessed by WHO standards. Conduct laboratory quality control (QC), quality assessment (QA), and participate in quality improvement (QI) programs; maintain record keeping and data collection. Engage in research on oocyte cryopreservation, maturation, pre‑implantation genetic diagnosis, and related areas. Perform other duties as assigned, in keeping with company policies, procedures, and patient care initiatives. Conduct daily embryology activities and reporting. Process semen specimens for artificial insemination/IVF, hyaluran sperm binding assays, and cryopreservation. Maintain, organize, scan, and file patient results, ensuring completeness and accuracy; confirm results on ART Summary sheets in EMR. Maintain quality control records on all materials associated with the IVF lab and process. Ensure all laboratory procedures are properly consented before execution. Communicate directly with physicians regarding daily IVF/ICSI and embryo development outcomes. Perform quality assurance and preventative maintenance; maintain a clean and disinfected IVF lab and equipment. Coordinate daily procedure scheduling with nurses. Collaborate with the lab supervisor to maintain ART records for SART. Qualifications and Skills Bachelor’s Degree in Biology or related field required. At least 2 years of experience performing embryology lab duties with minimal training required. Experience with Artisan and Matcher systems is a plus. Ability to work weekends and holidays on a rotating basis with teammates. Ability to work independently. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail. Team‑player with strong collaboration skills. Tech savvy. Flexibility and willingness to learn at all times. Excellent multi‑tasking, organizational, and time‑management abilities.
