Job Details Job Location: The Beach Club Athletics - Minneapolis, MN 55416 Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $28.00 - $45.00 Hourly Location: The Beach Club Athletics - Minneapolis, MN Pay Transparency: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour for management duties (up to 30 hours per week) + $45.00 per hour for personal training sessions and/or group fitness class delivery (up to 10 hours per week) + Bonus (based on achieving quarterly revenue targets) ; Minimum rates may vary based on local wage laws. Pay depends on factors including site location, specialty, certifications, work experience, and other business needs. Role and Responsibilities The Fitness Manager is responsible for overseeing fitness and providing onsite leadership for the Personal Trainers and Fitness Staff. This person actively promotes sales and purchases of personal training sessions as well as Small Group Training (SGT), thereby assisting Active Wellness with member satisfaction and retention. The Fitness Manager meets the budgeted department goal on programming sales. The Fitness Manager is also responsible for all matters pertaining to equipment and safety on the fitness floor. Specific Responsibilities Essential Functions Meet monthly and yearly revenue goals through the development of fitness programming. Track individual daily fitness professional goals and complete payroll for Fitness Team Match fitness professionals with new client May deliver up to 10 hours of personal training sessions per week, at the discretion of the General Manager as long as other goals are being met. Support and manage team members; interview, hire, train, and coach all staff to hit monthly and yearly goals. Manage member questions, comments and concerns on a daily basis and provide mediation between members/staff, members/members and staff/staff. Work with fitness and housekeeping teams to ensure fitness floor cleanliness Manage member on-boarding process of all Fitness personnel Assist General Manager in creating yearly budgets Attend weekly department head meetings, individual meetings, company fitness meetings and required trainings Complete and follow up on facility work orders Conduct quarterly fitness staff meetings Conduct new employee and quarterly staff safety trainings Administer emergency care to members and guests in need of assistance Work as a TEAM with all other departments Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor Other Functions Uphold Active Wellness written policies and procedures Enforce policies fairly and consistently Assist in managing department Operational Standards of Excellence (OSE) Conduct staff operational and safety meetings and trainings Prepare an annual budget for the department Review, verify, and be accountable for department payroll submissions Submits purchase orders or expense reports for any and all departmental purchases according to established club guidelines Ensure all department staff members maintain appropriate certifications/licenses/permits as required by their role Be knowledgeable about all programs and activities offered throughout the center Assist with keeping the center well stocked and clean Attend Active Wellness site meetings and trainings Handle injury and illness and security incident reporting Qualifications Qualifications and Education Requirements 2 yr. management experience in the fitness industry Communication skills, customer service oriented, bottom-line oriented, experience in selling personal training and leading a team. Outlook, Excel and Microsoft programs 4 year college degree in fitness related field preferred Experience with and passionate about medical fitness, and collaboration between health care providers and fitness a plus. Operational knowledge of resistance training equipment and proper form Knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics Knowledge of appropriate exercises for specific muscle groups Knowledge of injury prevention and basic rehabilitation Knowledge of basic movement and posture assessments and body composition assessments Must be detail oriented, organized and highly responsive with a commitment to customer service Strong verbal communication skills Basic computer skills, customer service skills, results oriented, ability to multitask, and commitment to the fitness industry AED/CPR/First Aid Certified National Personal Training Certification(s) required (see approved Certification, Licenses and Permits list) as well as modality specific certifications as required by role (if applicable) Proof of citizenship or legal status Physical and Working Conditions Ability to take the responsibility for the health and safety of others Ability to stand for several hours in a same shift; ability to lift 25 lbs Fitness club environment Must follow OSHA and Active Wellness safety standards Benefits Health, Dental and Vision Insurance (Full Time) Health Flexible Spending Account (Full Time) Paid Time Off (Full Time) Parking & Transit Flexible Spending Accounts 401(k) (Eligible after 1 year of service + 1000 work hours) Legal Support Plan Employee Assistance Program & Mental Health Support Service Complimentary Club Membership and Discounts on Active Products (where applicable) This job description is intended to describe the general requirements for the position.
