Location: Roanoke, Virginia, United States

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Paramedic to join a leading healthcare organization in Roanoke, VA. In this role, you will provide advanced life support care, respond to 911 medical emergencies, and safely transport patients while ensuring the highest standards of patient care.

• Assess the nature and extent of illness or injury to prioritize medical procedures and interventions.

• Administer emergency treatments, including IV medications, injections, defibrillation, and advanced life support measures.

• Perform procedures such as intubation, extrication, and cardiac or trauma stabilization.

• Observe, record, and communicate patient condition and response to treatment to physicians or command personnel.

• Operate emergency vehicles safely and efficiently, maintaining an excellent driving record.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of treatment protocols, medications, equipment, and regulatory requirements.

• Coordinate with external entities as needed and prepare accurate patient and insurance documentation.

• Support the organizations commitment to service excellence and quality in all patient care activities.

Education:

• Required: High school diploma or equivalent

• Preferred: Associates degree or technical program in paramedic studies

Licensure / Certifications:

• Required: Virginia State Paramedic certification

• Preferred: National Registered Paramedic status

• Required: AHA BLS HCP, EVOC, and ACLS

• Additional certifications (PALS, Haz Mat Awareness, NRP, PHTLS or BTLS) required within 1 year of hire

Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of Paramedic experience preferred

Other Requirements:

• Must maintain continuing education for recertification

• Current driving record meeting eligibility requirements

• Various full-time and flexible shifts available

• Pay: $20.10 $28.14/hour

• Shift Differentials: $3/weeknights, $4/weekends, $10 recognized holidays

• Weekend & Holiday Requirements: Every other weekend; rotating holidays; no on-call

• Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 (paid in 3 installments over 2 years)

• Relocation Assistance: Available if needed
