We partner with employers and workforce platforms to embed financial wellness tools directly into payroll and HR systems, giving employees access to fee‑free earned wage access and other financial products that help them avoid predatory financial solutions. As we continue to grow, we’re expanding beyond traditional payroll providers and increasingly partnering with larger companies building their own payroll and HRIS infrastructure. We’re looking for a highly analytical, curious, and strategic operator to help us better understand the embedded fintech landscape and identify where Clair should go next. About the Role We’re hiring a Go‑to‑Market Strategy Lead to help shape how Clair identifies, prioritizes, and expands into new markets and customer segments, while owning our end‑to‑end process to find, and understand deeply the potential champions within each organization. This role is ideal for someone with 2‑7 years of experience in their career with a background in investment banking, consulting, private equity, strategic finance, market research, venture capital or business operations who wants to move closer to operating within a high‑growth fintech company. You’ll work directly with Clair’s Chief of Staff and partner closely with Partnerships, Sales, Product, Marketing, and Data teams to deeply understand the embedded fintech ecosystem, identify high‑potential target companies and buyers, analyze market trends, and help inform Clair’s long‑term go‑to‑market strategies. This role will begin heavily focused on research, market intelligence, and strategic analysis, with the opportunity to evolve into a more influential strategic partner helping shape company‑level sales, GTM, and product decisions over time. What You’ll Do Research and analyze the embedded fintech, payroll, HRIS, and workforce technology landscape, as well as trends and fits for Clair’s product Assess buying signals and market dynamics to identify and prioritize high‑potential target customers and strategic market opportunities Build detailed company profiles, market maps, and ICP segmentation frameworks, and determine potential buyer/decision makers and their circles of influence Conduct competitive intelligence and track industry trends, partnerships, and market movements Analyze market sizing, whitespace opportunities, and expansion strategies for Clair’s current and roadmapped products Synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights for leadership in order to drive forward deal closing Partner cross‑functionally with Partnerships, Product, Marketing, Sales, and Data teams to develop comprehensive and concrete steps in our GTM strategy, driving ARR and usership increases Help develop scalable frameworks for evaluating new business opportunities Develop and action scalable frameworks for identifying target accounts, mapping key stakeholders, and helping Clair engage the right decision‑makers within prospective partner organizations. Support strategic initiatives and special projects tied to Clair’s growth strategy Leverage AI tooling where possible to develop efficient and scalable research, contact, and closing processes What We’re Looking For 2–7 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, strategic finance, corporate strategy, market intelligence, or a similar analytical role Strong research, analytical, and problem‑solving skills Exceptional attention to detail and ability to synthesize large amounts of information Strong written and verbal communication skills Comfortable navigating ambiguity and operating in a fast‑paced startup environment Naturally curious with a strong interest in fintech, payroll, HR technology, and embedded financial products Highly organized and capable of managing multiple workstreams simultaneously Strong Excel/Sheets and presentation‑building skills Experience building market analyses, company landscapes, or strategic recommendations preferred Why This Role Matters This role will play a key part in helping Clair define where we go next. The insights, research, and strategic recommendations generated by this person will directly influence how we expand our customer base, prioritize opportunities, and position Clair within the evolving embedded fintech ecosystem. Additional Details Location: This role is based in NYC and operates in‑person (5 days a week) from Clair HQ. Compensation: The annual base salary for this role is $140,000 to $180,000. The base pay for this role is determined using many factors, such as education, skills and experience, and is reflective of Clair’s Series stage and size. Given the range of backgrounds and experience levels we’re considering for this role — from 2 to 7 years — the salary range is intentionally broad to reflect that variety. Base pay is only one part of Clair’s competitive total compensation package which includes equity, benefits and additional perks.
