Environmental Services Technician, Housekeeping/Laundry Long Term Care (LTC) Good Samaritan seeks an Environmental Services Technician in Long Term Care to maintain a safe and sanitary environment for patients/residents, visitors, and staff. The position is part-time and located at the GSS IA West Union Center, West Union, IA. Job Details Facility: GSS IA West Union Ctr Location: West Union, IA Address: 201 Hall St, West Union, IA 52175, USA Shift: 8 Hours - Day Shifts Job Schedule: Part time Weekly Hours: 20.00 Starting Rate: $11.00 - $17.00 Responsibilities Maintain cleanliness of patient/resident rooms and assigned areas following infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines. Empty waste baskets, sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors using brooms, mops, or powered machines. Perform housekeeping and laundry processes, including using tools and techniques appropriate for a healthcare environment. Operate pagers and other technology as required and assist in laundry areas as needed. Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment and maintain well-stocked, clean, and tidy equipment and carts. Perform physical activities such as climbing, lifting (up to 40–50 lb), and moving equipment on flat surfaces or ramps. Be available for overtime, on‑call, backup call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays as required by patient/resident needs. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (preferred). Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience (preferred). Ability to use a computer and prior cleaning experience is helpful. Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods, and cleaning chemicals is helpful. Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills are required. Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
