There is never a dull moment with us.Group/DivisionThe Office of the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) plays a critical role in developing advanced long-range technology in collaboration with product divisions and strategic marketing, working on future technology like light sources, lasers, and sensors. We are engaged in the research and development process, and once the technology is mature, we partner with product engineering groups who then build products based on the technology we’ve developed. The Office of the CTO also provides technical input into KLA’s strategic planning process, program reviews and Product Life Cycle (PLC) phases. We provide our broad technology expertise and cross-division experience to ensure we leverage the collective knowledge within our company.Job Description/Preferred QualificationsWe are looking for an Image Sensor and Camera Electronics Scientist to join our CTO team!ResponsibilitiesLead research and development projects of image sensor and camera electronics technologies to advance KLA’s product roadmap.Work with strategic vendors to develop next-generation image sensor technologies.Propose and design prototype sensors and test structures.Develop experimental test setups for prototype electrical and optical characterization, including high-speed, low-noise PCBs for image sensor readout and data acquisition.Design and run experiments, analyze, and present data with concrete conclusions. Solve technical problems by using problem solving techniques.Collaborate with other team members and product divisions to solve complex sensor and camera electronics challenges.Required QualificationsExperience in CCD/CMOS image sensors and camera systems.Hands-on laboratory experience in building and operating experimental test setups for image sensor and camera characterization.Experience in design and simulation of analog and digital electronic circuits relevant to high-speed, low-noise PCBs for image sensor readout and data acquisition.Experience in software development for test setup automation and experimental data analysis.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.Desired QualificationsGood foundation in solid-state physics, optics, and interaction of light with matterExperience in digital image processing techniques.Experience with innovative FPGA design and firmware programming.Minimum QualificationsDoctorate (Academic) Degree with at least 5 years of experience.Base Pay Range: $186,200.00 - $316,500.00 AnnuallyPrimary Location: USA-CA-Milpitas-KLAKLA’s total rewards package for employees may also include participation in performance incentive programs and eligibility for additional benefits including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, life, and other voluntary benefits, 401(K) including company matching, employee stock purchase program (ESPP), student debt assistance, tuition reimbursement program, development and career growth opportunities and programs, financial planning benefits, wellness benefits including an employee assistance program (EAP), paid time off and paid company holidays, and family care and bonding leave.Interns are eligible for some of the benefits listed.
