Position Overview


As a Structural Designer , you will serve as a key contributor to the design team, responsible for developing design concepts and producing high-quality 2D and 3D deliverables. This role supports advanced technology manufacturing environments, including semiconductor fabrication and support facilities .


You will develop conceptual and detailed structural models and translate engineering input into construction-ready documentation that aligns with departmental and client standards. A high level of precision, ownership, and accountability is expected. In addition to technical execution, you will guide small design teams, coordinate across disciplines, and ensure successful delivery of design packages.

Duties & Responsibilities

Design & Technical Execution

• Develop 3D structural models based on verbal instructions, engineering input, and rough sketches
• Produce complete sets of structural plans and detailed construction documents
• Apply department and client standards consistently across all models and deliverables
• Translate engineering concepts into coordinated, construction-ready documentation
• Review models and drawings to verify accuracy, completeness, and compliance

Quality & Ownership

• Take full ownership of assigned scope, schedule, and quality requirements
• Perform self-checks and peer reviews to uphold design integrity
• Support clash detection and adjudicated design coordination

Leadership & Coordination

• Lead small design packages and guide a team of designers
• Assign tasks, balance workloads, and monitor progress to ensure deadlines are met
• Take ownership of internal reviews and lead cross-discipline and external package reviews
• Coordinate closely with engineering and related disciplines
• Attend meetings and actively contribute to resolving technical issues and project concerns

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

• Hybrid Work Environment:
  
  
  • This position is hybrid and requires residence within 50 miles of the Portland, OR electronics office
  • Minimum of two days per week onsite
  • Relocation assistance may be provided, as applicable
• Reliable high-speed internet is required for remote work
• Occasional field walks may be required, including:
  
  
  • Climbing ladders
  • Crawling under raised access floors
  • Walking or standing for extended periods

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate degree in Computer-Aided Drafting or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of structural drafting/design experience
• Minimum 3 years of Revit experience
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• 7+ years of structural drafting/design experience
• 5+ years of Revit experience
• Experience with SmartPlant and Tekla
• Experience using Navisworks and Bluebeam
• Experience designing traditional steel and concrete structures
• Experience with general industrial facilities , preferably semiconductor-related
