Summary:

The Associate Scientist I - R&D is responsible for reviewing analytical testing data and laboratory documentation for raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and stability studies. The role ensures data accuracy, completeness, traceability, and compliance with approved methods, SOPs, GMP, Good Documentation Practices, and data integrity requirements. The position works closely with QC, QA, laboratory personnel, and other teams to identify and resolve discrepancies and support quality activities and product-release timelines.

Responsibilities

• Review analytical data, laboratory records, and supporting QC documentation.
• Review data generated from HPLC, GC, spectroscopy, dissolution, and wet chemistry testing.
• Verify calculations, specifications, analytical results, instrument outputs, and chromatograms.
• Ensure laboratory records comply with approved methods, SOPs, GMP, and Good Documentation Practices.
• Identify errors, discrepancies, atypical results, and documentation deficiencies.
• Work with laboratory personnel to investigate and resolve data discrepancies.
• Review testing data for raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and stability samples.
• Use laboratory information systems and electronic systems to review and track data.
• Support investigations, deviations, OOS/OOT events, and other quality activities.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and traceable records.
• Support data integrity requirements and quality standards.
• Collaborate with QC analysts, laboratory leadership, QA, and other departments.
• Support testing schedules and product-release timelines.
• Follow applicable safety, quality, regulatory, and site procedures.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field.
• 2+ years of relevant experience preferred.
• Laboratory, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or regulated-industry experience preferred.
• Experience with laboratory data review or analytical laboratory testing.
• Working knowledge of HPLC, GC, spectroscopy, dissolution testing, and wet chemistry.
• Strong knowledge of GMP regulations and Good Documentation Practices.
• Understanding of pharmaceutical quality standards and data integrity principles.
• Strong attention to detail and scientific judgment.
• Ability to critically evaluate analytical data and identify discrepancies.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and laboratory information/electronic data systems.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
• Willingness and ability to work second shift.
