Fairfield-Suisun Sewer District (FSSD) is currently seeking a candidate to fill a full-time position as a Utility Worker. THIS RECRUITMENT IS LIMITED TO THE FIRST 100 APPLICANTS! If you are looking to start a career in the Wastewater Industry, this may be a great opportunity for you! Our utility worker does a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled work throughout the plant to support the overall plant, facilities, and grounds. This is an entry level position with several opportunities for growth and learning. The Ideal Candidate will have:

• A desire to work in the wastewater industry.
• A strong drive to learn and further develop skills to allow opportunities for growth and progression.

In summary, this position will be responsible for the following:

• Helps keep the District looking great by maintaining landscaping and grounds, including mowing, trimming, pruning, and keeping walkways, parking lots, and outdoor areas clean.
• Performs hands-on facility maintenance such as repairing fences and roads, maintaining irrigation systems, completing work orders, and assisting with general upkeep of buildings.
• Works alongside maintenance staff to inspect and perform basic maintenance and minor repairs on equipment, pumps, motors, and mechanical systems.
• Assists with sewer collection system work, including cleaning and inspecting sewer lines.

Over several decades, the District has evolved from a technical engineering entity to a valuable resource manager, partner in local economic development, and active member of the watershed community. The District has taken numerous actions to shift conventional thinking about the way wastewater utilities are run.
