MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

SUMMARY: Supports all production/facility equipment during normal operation, performs preventive maintenance on all equipment, and maintains facility in top condition.DUTIES:The essential function of this position includes, but are not necessarily limited to, those specifically identified in this description. The Company may, at its sole discretion, add to, change, or expand the essential or marginal functions of this position.Ensure personal safety, food safety and quality protocols are followed.reviewing the work schedule, checking equipment and supplies required to perform scheduled work, and prioritizing tasks appropriately.Read and understand blueprints, drawing, and plans.Perform routine maintenance and trouble shoot equipment and machinery in the facility.Work closely with other teams to meet priorities and goals while providing input to maintenance leadership on work order scheduling, corrective actions, and possible improvements.Follow departmental procedures for work requests as well as ordering parts and supplies.Properly complete all documentation required, i.e., filling out proper requisitions, completing timely and accurate work orders according to process and matrixes.Must be capable of self-direction and work independently during the maintenance supervisor's/ manager's absence.Ability to interact effectively with other departments, peers, and supervisors.Weekend work or overtime will be required as determined by management.Maintain min and max parts inventory levels on all spare parts for PMs and repairs.POSITION SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIREDGeneral:Understanding of technical language and the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsDemonstrate understanding of lubrications, greases, and oils for packaging equipment.Mechanical:Routinely inspects and maintains building and installed systems including but not limited to, plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, exhaust fans, shop, and grounds.Routinely inspect and maintain all building doors.Performs minor and routine repairs including but not limiting to painting, drywall, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities.Perform routine maintenance on conveying equipment; various power transmission equipment such as, bearings, belts, brakes, chains, couplings, clutches, and gearboxes; as well as various pumps, motors, exhaust fans and dust collection systems.Properly use of hand tools.Lubricate industrial machinery.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEMinimum 2-year college degree preferred or equivalent work experienceHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.Technical degree in related field preferred.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:Visual/verbal/auditory Acuity - Far sighted/near sighted/color vision; auditory and verbal skillsExposure to Temperature - heat and below freezing temperatures - inside and outSlippery Floors - requires balance and agilityWork with and/or around: moving conveyors, various automated equipment, lift trucks, manual equipment, allergens including soy and nut products and airborne powdersPerform lock-out/tag-out proceduresTolerate and work at heights of up to 30 ft. #J-18808-Ljbffr Protein Research
