Phlebotomist

Job Details Job Location: Main Hospital Campus Headquarters - Madison, WV 25130 Position Type: Full Time Phlebotomist Boone Memorial Health is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our Laboratory team. Essential Functions Collect routine, timed, and STAT blood specimens accurately and efficiently. Properly identify patients prior to specimen collection following established protocols. Provide safe, compassionate, age-appropriate care for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Transport specimens to the laboratory in accordance with infection prevention and control policies. Collect chain-of-custody specimens when required. Answer incoming telephone calls, assess requests, and respond appropriately. Follow all hospital policies, procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Support quality patient care by ensuring specimens are collected, handled, and prepared accurately for laboratory analysis. Skills, Qualifications, and Competencies Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy procedures. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management abilities. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast‑paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related computer software. Physical Demands Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the workday. Frequent use of hands and fine motor skills to perform blood collections. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Essential job functions may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation. Education & Experience Certification from an accredited Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant program.
