Position Summary: Sisu Youth Services offers shelter, support, and housing for youth experiencing homelessness. Sisu is piloting a NEW workforce readiness program to provide career education paired with individualized job placement and retention support for our clients. The Employment Manager will provide leadership and oversight for the employment program, supervise staff, ensure quality and compliance, manage performance outcomes, cultivate partnerships, and support mission-aligned workforce initiatives.

The Employment Manager is a non-exempt, full-time employee reporting to the Program & Clinical Director. The Employment Manager role is the leader of a team consisting of an Employment Navigator and an Employment Coordinator. Employment, compensation, and position continuation are subject to the provisions and/or continuation of grant funding.

Essential Functions:

• Oversee daily operations, service quality, and outcome achievement.
• Hire, train, schedule, lead, discipline, and coach the employment program staff to help each employee reach their full potential.
• Plan and implement job readiness workshops, employment preparation sessions and employer presentations.
• Develop performance reports and lead continuous improvement processes.
• Assist with grant reporting, budgeting, proposals, and program documentation.
• Represent the program internally as well as to employers, partners, and workforce stakeholders.
  

Additional Responsibilities:

• Participate in job fairs, employer tours, community events, and outreach opportunities.
• Coordinate experiential learning opportunities with employers and community partners.
• Instill a sense of accountability among team members by modeling tight oversight of individual and organizational performance standards.
• Collaborate with fundraising staff to ensure grants and other materials align with program goals and outcomes.
• Collaborate with the Sisu leadership team on organizational direction and growth, program development, and continuous quality improvements.
• Research and implement evidence-based programming to further the growth and development of services for Sisu clients.
• Share employer information and job opportunities with other departments.
• Attend and participate in assigned training and professional development activities, including autonomous upskilling
• Represent Sisu with excellence when communicating and coordinating with community partners.
• Provide transportation for employment-related activities as needed.
• Any other duties related to Employment Support as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Strong leadership and supervisory skills, including the ability to motivate, develop, and hold staff accountable to program and performance expectations.
• Ability to oversee multiple aspects of program operations while maintaining high standards of quality, compliance, and participant service.
• Ability to analyze program performance data and implement strategies to improve outcomes and operational effectiveness.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present and tailor communication styles to diverse audiences.
• Must take initiative and hold oneself accountable for completing projects.
• Must be comfortable independently developing and maintaining relationships with employers.
• Strong ability to organize, prioritize, and communicate effectively about their work and deadlines. Must be detail-oriented.
• Must be flexible for changing program needs and willing to participate in continuous quality improvement.
• Must be patient, empathetic, and willing to ensure a trauma-informed environment while maintaining boundaries.
• Able to work as part of a collaborative team as well as independently.
• Working knowledge of standard office software, including Google Workspace.
• Commitment to answer phones, texts, and emails daily and respond promptly.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to use telephone, computer, copy machine, printer, and other office equipment.
• Licensed with a clear driving history, auto insurance, and reliable transportation. Local travel will be required.

Education/Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of direct supervisory experience required
• Proven leadership skills and experience managing staff, logistics, and partnership cultivation
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience with program management is a plus.
• Experience with youth and young adults, LGBTQ+, social services, teaching, or workforce development preferred.

Job Location:Hybrid in the Oklahoma City metro; 50% on-site, 30% in the field, 20% remote

Position Type: Full-time, hourly (40 hours/week)

Scheduled Hours: typically Monday through Friday

Salary Range: $26.00/hour

Sisu receives federal, state, and local funding for program operations. All employees who are paid in full or in part with federal funds must keep specific documents to demonstrate the amount of time they spent on grant activities. (2 C.F.R. Part 200.430(i)(1)) In addition, employees who are paid from state and local funds but whose salaries are used for cost-sharing or matching must also keep time and effort documentation. ( 200.430(i)(4)) Charges to federal awards for salaries and wages must be based on records that accurately reflect the work performed.
