RN Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) - Travel / Contract - Night

Job Overview Travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – 8‑week assignment in West Burlington, Iowa. Firm: Fusion Medical Staffing. Responsibilities Assess, monitor, and manage critically ill patients in the ICU, including advanced hemodynamic monitoring (arterial lines, central venous pressure, pulmonary artery catheters). Operate and maintain advanced life‑support equipment and administer complex medications and treatments in accordance with approved critical‑care nursing techniques. Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record promptly to ensure continuity of care and regulatory compliance. Provide education to patients and families regarding the ICU environment, treatments, and recovery expectations. Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient care. Maintain proficiency in critical‑care procedures and technologies through ongoing education and training. Adhere to strict infection‑control protocols and hospital safety procedures, protecting immunocompromised patients and reducing risks. Engage in quality‑improvement initiatives to enhance ICU patient outcomes and operational efficiency. Qualifications Registered Nurse license in compliance with state regulations, active in Iowa. Minimum one year of recent experience as an ICU RN. Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification preferred. Strong critical‑care skills, advanced clinical judgment, excellent communication, and commitment to patient safety and professional ethics in high‑acuity settings. Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English. Physical & Technical Requirements Remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lb), push, pull, and bend as required. Fine‑manipulation skills for performing procedures and operating department equipment. Mental & Sensory Requirements Ability to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure.
