Maintenance TechnicianValmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Maintenance Technician position in the Global Coatings Division. Additionally, you will…Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as hoist motors, pumps, belts, fans, air conditioners, conveyors, etc.Examines mechanical equipment to diagnose trouble.Disassembles machines and repairs and replaces broken parts.Uses all types of power tools and hand toolsAdjustment of functional parts of mechanical devices as necessaryKeeps work area clean; observes all safety proceduresInterprets blueprints, works from sketches or verbal instructionsMaintains all types of forklifts and keeps in operating conditionContributes to the design and fabrication of production fixtures and racksCarries out preventative maintenance program for all production equipment, mechanical devices, building and land, including maintaining maintenance records and preventive maintenance checklists.Basic working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.Required QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED equivalentMinimum three (3) years of previous experience in general maintenanceSignificant electrical work to repair or maintain company equipment.A working knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems.The ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, welding layouts, schematics, and complex electro mechanical assembly and/or erection directions.Must have a high awareness for safety at all timesPerform and/or assist with maintenance tasks according to production needs to minimize downtime.Support manufacturing demands including working during non-peak hours (e.g. off shifts, holidays, weekends, etc. as required/assigned.Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and work both in a non-temperature controlled environment and outdoors.The ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environmentThe ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive mannerMust be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional resultsOther duties as required and/or assigned.Highly qualified candidates will also possess:Five years of previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environmentFive years of previous experience with overhead crane operationsFive years of previous experience operating a forkliftThe ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issuesThe ability to recognize hazardous substances and to know basic employee responsibilities for chemical safetyAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.Valmont offers employees and their families a comprehensive Total Wellbeing benefit package to ensure their individual and family's overall wellness needs are met.
