Job Description:

Position: Principal Electrical Engineer / Avionics Test Engineer

Location: Melbourne, FL (Onsite)

Duration: Long-term contract with a strong possibility of temp-to-perm conversion for the right candidate.

Direct Client Need

2nd Shift (1:00 PM – 9:30 PM, M-F)

Kindly Note: Will work 1st Shift hours (7:00 AM – 4:00 PM) for the first month during training.

Summary:

• Our Major Client is seeking a motivated Principal Electrical Engineer (Avionics Test) to join their global Avionics Test Engineering organization.
• This is a multi-faceted, highly collaborative role responsible for developing complex manufacturing and service test solutions for a $5B Avionics strategic business unit.

Key Responsibilities:

• HW & SW Troubleshooting: Develop, debug, and troubleshoot combined hardware and software test solutions on multi-rack test stations.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with mechanical, systems, and global engineering disciplines to align electrical designs with product requirements.
• Reverse Engineering: Evaluate and document existing equipment layouts and legacy builds.
• Automated Testing: Support automated test software development, review automated test procedures, and implement required software updates.
• Lab Equipment Mastery: Utilize digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, network/spectrum/logic analyzers, electronic loads, and environmental (thermal/vibration) stress equipment.

Qualifications / Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 3–5 years of experience (or 8–9 years of experience in lieu of a degree).
• Core Certifications: MUST HAVE NI TestStand and LabVIEW certifications or formal training.
• Dual Domain Expertise: Proven experience working explicitly with BOTH hardware and software solutions.
• Schematics & RF: Strong ability to read electronic schematics and hands-on experience working with RF (Radio Frequency) devices.
• Work Authorization: Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or permanent resident).
• Plusses: Prior domain knowledge of avionics products and C# development proficiency.
