[UPLIVE Company] 2D VFX Artist

Own the look, feel, and timing of 2D game VFX that make music feel tactile. You’ll design and implement performant, stylized effects, hit flashes, trails, idle loops, UI transitions, so every beat lands with clarity and delight. You ship fast, iterate faster, and keep an eye on frame time. WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Create engaging in-game visual effects that amplify the music/rhythm experience.
• Collaborate with designers and engineers to ensure all effects align with gameplay timing, readability, and visual style.
• Optimize VFX for mobile performance (memory, overdraw, frame stability).
• Proactively propose and prototype new visual ideas that raise overall visual quality and player satisfaction.

• Technical skills requirements:
• Proficiency in Unity with mastery of the Particle System.
• Foundational shader knowledge (alpha blend, additive, unlit; built-in/Shader Graph).
• Skilled in texture creation using Photoshop or equivalent; illustration skills are a plus.
• Basic proficiency in a 3D DCC (e.g., Blender/Maya/3ds Max) for creating/processing simple VFX meshes.
• Bonus: Familiarity with After Effects and Unity UI/Canvas particle effects.
• Portfolio showcasing your VFX work (include links or samples).
• Soft skills requirements:
• A reliable person and able to work independently, with responsibility.
• A creative person, flexible and adaptive to work with multiple games portfolio.
• A communicative person who can discuss with the team about their ideas, projects and negotiate feedback effectively.
• An energetic and open-minded collaborator.
• A multi-tasker, who proactively seeks out opportunities to support the team.
• Portfolio is required as part of the application
