The ideal candidate will bring deep public accounting experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex tax engagements while mentoring staff and strengthening client relationships.The firm offers a professional but family-oriented culture, flexibility where possible, and the opportunity to work with a strong client base across industries such as construction, service providers, real estate, professional services, and closely held businesses.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and review complex tax engagements for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, estates, and high-net-worth clientsProvide tax planning and consulting strategies for business owners and high-net-worth individualsReview business tax returns, including C corporations, S corporations, partnerships, consolidated returns, and multi-state filingsServe as a trusted advisor to clients by identifying tax-saving opportunities and helping resolve technical tax mattersManage multiple client engagements while ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are metReview work prepared by staff and senior accountants to ensure accuracy and compliance with firm quality control proceduresSupervise, train, and mentor tax staff and seniorsComplete performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team membersCommunicate engagement status, technical issues, scheduling concerns, and recommended solutions to partnersMaintain strong client relationships through responsive communication and technical guidanceStay current on tax law changes, regulatory updates, and industry-specific tax mattersParticipate in networking and business development activitiesSupport firm leadership with process improvement, policies, procedures, and team developmentAssist with additional projects and responsibilities as neededQualificationsActive CPA license requiredBachelor’s degree in Accounting requiredMaster’s degree in Taxation preferred8+ years of current public accounting tax experience required3+ years of experience supervising, training, and reviewing the work of tax staff and senior accountantsCurrent or recent experience with a mid-sized public accounting firm strongly preferredStrong business tax experience, including C corporations, S corporations, partnerships, and closely held businessesExperience with high-net-worth individual taxation and tax planningExperience managing complex tax engagements from start to finishMulti-state tax experience requiredExperience with consolidated tax returns preferredStrong technical review skills, including the ability to identify issues, research solutions, and communicate recommendationsComfortable serving as the primary client contact on assigned engagementsAbility to manage deadlines, budgets, staffing, and client expectations during busy seasonStrong written and verbal communication skillsHighly organized with the ability to manage multiple client engagements at one timeProven ability to mentor and develop staffStable work history preferredSenior-Level ExpectationsThis is a senior-level tax leadership role, not a preparation-focused position.
