Reports To: Store Manager / Operations Manager

Position Summary:

The Service Manager is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the shop, ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient work environment. This role includes managing shop staff, maintaining compliance with company policies, utilizing digital shop management software (Shop Monkey), and ensuring customer satisfaction through quality service execution. The Service Manager is expected to be a hands-on leader who guides the shop team in achieving daily productivity and safety goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Shop Operations Oversight:

• • Manage day-to-day shop operations including workflow and task delegation.
  • Ensure all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols are implemented and followed.
  • Oversee use of Shop Monkey, ensuring proper documentation and compliance by all shop techs.
  • Complete daily equipment calibrations, inspections, and safety checks.
  • Schedule and coordinate maintenance of shop tools and equipment, communicating any needs to store management.

Team Leadership & Development:

• • Instruct, coach, train, and manage shop technicians.
  • Create and maintain shop work schedules.
  • Assist with hiring and onboarding new shop staff.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
  • Lead by example in enforcing PPE usage and safe work practices.

Safety & Compliance:

• • Enforce TIA, ALI, and company safety standards and guidelines.
  • Conduct or assist with monthly safety audits.
  • Oversee first and second torque procedures, including technician verification and manager completion.
  • Ensure adherence to torque, lifting, and PPE protocols at all times.

Inventory & Product Management:

• • Order service-related products and parts as needed through 1st Call and approved vendors.
  • Receive and manage service-related product orders.
  • Maintain and manage customer special order binders (e.g., center caps, wheel replacements).
  • Assist with RTV (Return to Vendor) documentation and processing.
  • Ensure customer returns are cleaned, labeled, and returned to inventory properly.

Administrative Duties:

• • Maintain proper Shop Monkey procedures and data integrity.
  • Track and report weekly company truck maintenance and inspections.
  • Assist store management with operational tasks as needed.
  • Support overall store performance through effective shop management.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of automotive shop or service management experience.
• Proficiency with shop management software (Shop Monkey experience preferred).
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of safety protocols and industry standards (TIA, ALI).
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically active environment.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods.
• Work may involve exposure to moderate noise and shop chemicals.
