Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments for patients spanning from children to the elderly utilizing standardized evaluation tools and observation techniques.
- Craft individualized treatment strategies that target both immediate objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
- Deliver focused, hands-on therapy sessions tackling communication, language proficiency, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing difficulties.
- Engage in teamwork with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, family members, and caregivers to design integrative care plans.
- Provide education to patients and families to ensure consistent progress beyond therapy sessions.
- Support inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions as needed to facilitate seamless patient care throughout their healing journey.
- Maintain meticulous and timely patient documentation in compliance with regional, federal, and facility regulations.
- Commit to professional development through continued education and collaboration with peers in the field.
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if ASHA certification has not been obtained.
- Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is necessary within the first month of employment.
- Strong foundation in evidence-based therapies suitable for a variety of ages, along with a profound understanding of speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Outstanding interpersonal communication prowess with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Flexibility to tailor therapy techniques to address diverse cultural and linguistic considerations.
