Sports Book Representative - Part Time

Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. Responsibilities Write, verify, and make payments on tickets for sports wagers in accordance with departmental policy and procedures, and ensure compliance with applicable jurisdictional gaming statutes and regulations. Maintain a cash bank for the shift; accept payment and make correct change when necessary. Stock Sports Book stations with adequate supplies; keep all stations neat and clean. Write Sports tickets in an accurate and timely manner. Make payments on winning tickets, verify tickets and payoffs, in an accurate and timely manner. Maintain and reconcile bank for assigned shift, following established cash‑handling policies and procedures. Explain wagering rules, including betting lines and odds, and procedures to guests. Provide information and assistance to customers in a friendly, courteous manner to ensure delivery of excellent guest service. Offer information on activities and direct guests for further information as necessary. Create and enter player tracking cards. Notify management of escalated or prevalent guest issues/concerns and any apparent suspicious activity. Perform other job‑related duties as requested. Qualifications Must be at least 21 years of age. High School Diploma or GED equivalent and minimum six (6) months of cash‑handling experience required. Previous experience in Racetrack and Sports Book preferred. Previous experience in a similar resort environment preferred. Ability to work as a part of a team in a high‑stress and high‑volume environment. Ability to work in and adapt to a dynamic and frequently changing environment. Ability to adhere to and execute established departmental policies and procedures. Working knowledge of sports. Proficient cash‑handling skills. Ability to work under pressure while paying attention to details. Basic math skills required to calculate winnings based on odds. Basic computer skills. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to maintain professional, neat, and well‑groomed appearance, adhering to departmental and company standards. Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to obtain and maintain a license by the Indiana Gaming Commission as may be required for this position. We’re changing entertainment.
