Pay: From $27.00 per hour

Job Summary:

 

 

Grey Wolf Transportation is a local carrier. Most pick-ups are completed in Elkhart County and brought to our warehouse located in Elkhart. Driver ranges are within 150 air miles of Elkhart, IN.  Long hauls are approximately 2.5 hours one-way. We offer a flexible schedule with staggered start and end times and even overnight hauls (when available). Full and part-time hours available. Overtime is paid at 45 hours.

The Tractor/Trailer Driver is responsible for safely driving product to and from customer locations as directed. Drivers may be required to move material using a provided pallet jack. Drivers are responsible for ensuring that product loaded onto trucks is secure, not damaged, and within weight limits.  Drivers may be asked to drive enclosed trailers, empty trailers, refrigerated trailers and flatbeds. Drivers must be able to accurately complete paperwork for deliveries and other required documentation.  We expect all truck drivers to follow safety guidelines and safe driving practices at all times.     

Qualifications:

 

 

·          Legal and active driver’s license with CDL-A endorsement 

·          Current DOT physical (or be willing to complete physical)

·          2 years’ experience driving Tractor/trailer driving (Required)

·          Must have experience with flatbeds, curtain-side, or Conestoga trailers

·          Candidates are subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks

 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

·           None.

  Duties/Responsibilities:

·          Safely delivering freight at various locations within 150 air miles of Elkhart, IN. 

·          Use GPS and follow directions to get from customer to customer by the most efficient route.

·          Utilize required applications for general job duties, including pre and post- trip truck and trailer inspections to ensure good running order. 

·          Complete minor service checks as needed. 

·          Strong communication with dispatch to ensure on-time pickups and communicate delays when necessary. 

·          Safely operate a pallet jack to move product and secure product within the trailer as necessary. 

·          Obtain receiving signatures and complete other paperwork as required.  

·          Work in a truck cab, warehouse, and outdoor environment that is subject to cold/hot weather as the seasons change. 

·          Maintain a valid driver’s license with required endorsements and DOT certifications.

Physical Requirements:

·          Ability to move material within the trailers using a pallet jack.

·          Ability to get in and out of trucks and trailers repeatedly throughout the workday, including as needed to inspect freight when loaded.

·          Ability to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods of time in a warehouse or vehicle as necessary.

·          Truck cab and warehouse environment is subject to seasonal weather conditions.
