Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital, requiring 2 years of acute care OR experience and BLS/ACLS certification.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room department of a hospital environment
• Handles Tier 4 General Surgery and Tier 5 cases including kidney and pancreas transplant, procurements, HIPEC, Whipple, trauma, colectomy, burns, laparoscopic, Da Vinci Xi, appendectomy, and cholecystectomy procedures
• Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 9:40 AM to 10:10 PM
• Floating required as needed
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (Standard or Compact), WI license accepted
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from AHA only
• Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience within the last 3 years in the OR specialty required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Teaching hospital, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Must pass a telemetry exam with strict criteria prior to start, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and 80% or higher passing score on adult and pediatric exams

Additional Information

• Perform circulating and scrub RN duties across a wide range of surgical specialties including general surgery, transplant, trauma, gynecology, plastics, urology, bariatrics, thoracic, and ENT procedures
• Utilize specialized equipment including cell saver, electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, and Da Vinci Xi robotic surgical system
• Apply knowledge of infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, specimen handling, and Universal Protocol time-out procedures
• Work at a Magnet-designated facility ranked as Wisconsin's #1 hospital and among the nation's leading teaching institutions and referral centers
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates within this radius are not accepted
