Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (Azure) (Cloud Systems, Infrastructure & Platform Management) The Donovan’s Venom Remote | Technology | Volunteer Role We’re Building — And It Needs Infrastructure That Can Scale The Donovan’s Venom is growing. We are seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (Azure) to design, build, and manage the cloud environment that powers everything we create. Because systems don’t scale by accident. They scale through intentional infrastructure . The Role This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the organization’s cloud infrastructure using Microsoft Azure. You will ensure systems are secure, reliable, and scalable—supporting applications, platforms, and internal operations. You are not just maintaining cloud systems. You are building the foundation everything runs on . This role operates at the intersection of infrastructure, platform engineering, and system performance , ensuring our technology environment can grow and perform. What You’ll Own Cloud Infrastructure Design & Deployment Design and deploy Azure-based infrastructure Configure virtual machines Configure networking Configure storage solutions Build scalable and reliable environments System Performance & Reliability Monitor system performance and uptime Identify and resolve performance issues Ensure high availability and system stability Scalability & Capacity Planning Design infrastructure to support growth Plan for increased usage and system demand Optimize resource allocation Security & Configuration Management Implement secure configurations Manage access and permissions Support alignment with security best practices Automation & Infrastructure as Code Implement automation for deployments Implement automation for configuration management Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) where applicable Platform & Application Support Support applications running in the cloud Work with engineering teams to optimize performance Ensure infrastructure aligns with application needs Monitoring & Incident Response Set up monitoring and alerting systems Respond to infrastructure-related issues Troubleshoot and resolve incidents Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with engineering teams Partner with IT Operations Partner with Security teams Ensure infrastructure supports all systems Documentation & System Management Maintain documentation for architecture Maintain documentation for configurations Maintain documentation for processes Ensure clarity and consistency Cost Optimization Monitor cloud usage and costs Identify opportunities to optimize spending Ensure efficient use of resources Continuous Improvement Improve infrastructure performance and reliability Introduce new tools and best practices Strengthen overall cloud environment Who This Is For Thinks in systems, infrastructure, and scalability Has strong problem-solving and technical skills Is proactive in identifying and resolving issues Understands cloud architecture and performance Thrives in a technical, fast-moving environment Qualifications Required 3–5 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, systems engineering, platform engineering Experience with Microsoft Azure Strong understanding of cloud architecture Strong understanding of networking and system performance Preferred Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, ARM templates) Experience with monitoring and logging tools Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations Experience in remote teams Commitment 10–15 hours per week Flexible schedule (with responsiveness to system needs) Participation in engineering and infrastructure discussions required Fully remote What You’ll Gain Experience building and managing cloud infrastructure Exposure to platform and application environments Opportunity to design scalable systems Development in infrastructure engineering and cloud operations Application Requirements (Read Carefully) You must be able to start within 14 days You must complete the full application You must be ready to contribute immediately Important Disclaimer This is a volunteer role.
