Pediatric Registered Nurse Observation Unit

Job Description Join our dynamic Observation Unit as a Registered Nurse. In this fast‑paced environment, you will assume responsibility and accountability for evaluating, planning, implementing, and monitoring care for patients undergoing diagnostic testing or treatment before discharge or admission. You’ll apply the nursing process using advanced technology, therapeutic interventions, and evidence‑based practices to support timely decision‑making and safe transitions of care. Collaboration is central—you’ll coordinate closely with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure each patient receives high‑quality, individualized care. Schedule and Hours Full‑time, 7PM–7AM, variable days. Rotating holidays and on‑call shifts are required to support continuous patient care. Compensation and Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Comprehensive benefits package: insurance options, fitness discounts, paid time off, 401(k) with employer contribution, tuition assistance Incentives: up to $250 annual caregiver incentive and $500 referral bonus Minimum Qualifications Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required as of the job description’s last update on 4/27/2025 (employees hired or promoted prior to this date will be held to the minimum requirements that were in place at the time of their promotion or hire) Registered Nurses with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their BSN within four (4) years of their hire date BLS certification for healthcare providers Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution (degree will be verified) Physical Requirements Ongoing need to see and read information, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and communicate verbally. Requires manual dexterity for manipulating complex equipment, frequent computer use and typing, lifting and moving patients and supplies up to heavy items, bending, and navigating crowded rooms. May require driving duties, which include sitting, seeing, and reading signs and traffic signals. Location Primary Children’s Hospital, Lehi, Utah. Scheduled weekly hours: 24.
