Universal Banker I - Atlanta, GA

Universal Banker Serves as a full-service, single point of contact in the branch for SouthState customers’ financial needs. Operates in dual capacity as Teller and FSR, providing exemplary customer service in both transactional and account management. Aims to attract, expand, and retain customer relationships and contribute to the bank’s financial growth. Essential Functions Provides timely, accurate, and confidential customer service according to SouthState Bank Service Standards, ensuring compliance with all banking regulations (Regulation CC, Bank Secrecy Act). Uses banking technology to support self‑service options, maintains a professional appearance, and manages security and audit procedures. Teller Duties Process transactions for savings, checking, and loan accounts. Maintain a neat and orderly work area. Assist in guiding and training new tellers. Provide customer access to safe deposit boxes. Cash checks, process savings withdrawals within limits, sell certified checks, and balance transactions daily. Assist with ATM service/balance and branch capture system. Follow policies to minimize operational errors and support proper workflow. Adhere to branch security and audit procedures. FSR Duties Open new deposit accounts and explain the bank’s financial services. Handle stops, wire transfers, and other maintenance functions within limits. Explain policies and procedures to customers. Resolve customer problems and complaints with courtesy, distinguishing issues that need escalation. View complaints as satisfaction opportunities and promote additional services. Maintain accurate, timely records and reports of customer development attempts. Follow security and audit procedures. Universal Banker Functions One year of teller or cash-handling experience. Six months of customer relationship building or sales experience. Demonstrated expertise in Teller II and basic FSR job functions. May have Vault or Back‑Up Vault responsibilities. Qualifications, Education, and Certification Requirements High School diploma or equivalent. Cash handling, sales, and customer service experience. Previous banking experience preferred. Good interpersonal and computer skills with proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English. Training Requirements/Classes The SouthState Way, New Team Member Orientation. Teller Foundations, Banker Foundations. All assigned Regulatory Compliance Training. Acknowledgement of all policies through DocuSign as assigned. Additional training may be required based on experience. Physical Demands Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand and/or sit for long periods. Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, reports, and cash denominations. Work Environment Position located in an open lobby area with an individual workstation within a cooled and heated facility. Travel Travel may be required for meetings or training as needed.
