In Store Planting - Crew Member

Pre-requisite • Read Entry Level – Landscape Installation Position

‍In store planting – crew members are tasked with installing small landscape and or maintenance projects, tree plantings, and deliveries. This candidate already knows the fundamentals of basic landscape installation.  They are competent in the basic skills sets, can operate and or maintain most of the hand tools and or power tools used in the trade.  This individual can easily load for a project and then go install the materials.  They can go out as one individual or be a part of a two-person team depending on the workload. This individual may be shifted into in store nursery sales as needed on occasion. Deliveries are also a function of this job.

Qualifications:

• Able to comfortably lift 75 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
• Minimum (1+) years of landscaping and or nursery sales experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record is required.
• Must be self-motivated, reliable, and punctual.
• Working cell phone is required.
• Must have good communication skills as well as good  customer relation skills.
• Displays a positive, “can-do” demeanor.

Responsibilities:

• Will load, tie down and operate trucks with trailers.
• Willing to work through unpleasant weather conditions.
• Must understand and can demonstrate efficient  techniques on general landscape processes which include planting, mulching, weed barrier and rock installation, basic sprinkler work, boulder placement, basic grading and hand work, basic drainage installation.
• Planting of small landscape projects, trees, and deliveries.
• Willingness to shift into other area’s where team member support is needed as directed by leadership.
• The ability to perform at an efficient/profitable level when by yourself or with a crew.
• Some Saturdays are encouraged but not required.

Note:  This position offers multiple directions to the next level.  It could lead to AssistantLandscape Crew Foreman, Landscape foreman position, or it could open the door to Landscape Design (Minimum 2-year college degree), or Nursery Sales Manager.

This can be a full-time, part-time and or seasonal position.  

An estimated wage of $17-25 per hour based on qualifications and work ethic.  Uniforms are supplied, you provide appropriate boots/shoes (with certain requirements), knife, and gloves.  A boot fund is offered after 1 year of employment with us.
