Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for the accurate and timely reconciliation of bank reconciliations, coding of certain invoices and transactions, and assisting with the fixed asset accounting for the Freeman Companies. In addition, the staff accountant assists in the month-end close process and prepares monthly journal entries and other account reconciliations. This position is eligible to work a hybrid schedule based out of our Dallas, TX Headquarters.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform the bank reconciliations of cash and credit card receivable accounts
• Communicate internally bank corrections to respective departments
• Work with external vendor to perform all escheatment activities
• Assist the month-end close process including preparation of accrual JE's and posting of journal entries and preparing certain account reconciliations as assigned
• Prepares audit schedules and assists with analysis during the annual audit

Education & Experience

• Degree in accounting, finance and/or business administration from an accredited institution
• 3+ years experience working as an accountant
• Experience working with foreign currencies a plus
• SAP and Hyperion experience a plus
• Excellent interpersonal skills with strong customer service focus
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate accounting and financial information to others
• Strong Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint skills with ability to perform pivot tables, vlookup, and other Excel formulas without assistance to analyze, match or report data quickly
• Ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines and carry out multiple priorities
