FT Evening: 3 pm-11:30 pm w/ rotating days and every other wknd (Shift Differential $ 4.00)JOB SUMMARYRegistered Nurses (RNs) deliver care to inmate patients utilizing the nursing assessment protocols in assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation, in accordance with established philosophy. RNs collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. RNs effectively interact with patients, while maintaining the standard of professional nursing.Corrections Nurses provide care to inmate patients to promote & improve their overall health utilizing the nursing process in triage, professional training and various resources in accordance with regulatory agencies and established guidelines. The inmate patient population generally has not had consistent access to healthcare prior to their incarceration. This provides an opportunity for nurses to see and care for an interesting variety of health concerns from minor ailments to major and atypical conditions.ORGANIZATIONAL EXPECTATIONSProvides a positive and professional representation of CFG Health Systems, LLC.Promotes culture of safety for patients and employees through proper identification, reporting documentation, and prevention.Maintains competency and knowledge of current standards of practice, trends, and developments in related scope of job role or practice.Adheres to infection control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.Participates in ongoing quality improvement activities.Completes required orientation as directed by facilityFollows facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignmentFollows facility and CFG Health Systems Occurrence ProtocolUpholds HIPAA and PREA regulationsPunctual and dependent for assigned/confirmed shiftsMaintains security clearance for the assigned facilityJOB RESPONSIBILITIESCorrections Nurses provide direct and individualized nursing care to the correctional-facility guided by the nursing protocols. In addition to general nursing care, responsibilities of Corrections Nurses include (but are not limited to):Performs assessments of inmate patient in a variety of settings within the institution such as: initial intake area, health care unit for sick, emergency situations on housing units, chronic care clinics, and medical units.Collaborates with primary care providers and other health care providers to ensure continuity, timeliness and appropriateness of care to inmate patientsCoordinates and/or administers medication, therapeutic agents, treatments, to inmate patientsPromotes culture of safety for patients and employees through proper identification, reporting documentation, and prevention.Maintains competency and knowledge of current standards of practice, trends, and developments in related scope of job role or practice.Adheres to infection control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.Reports reactions to treatments and medications, as well as changes in the inmates’ emotional or physical conditionProvides inmate patient education and/or discharge planningRecords all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate formsPromotes a therapeutic environment to ensure inmates are treated in a professional, ethical and tactful mannerPerforms other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting#INDRNJob RequirementsMinimum Education:Graduate of an accredited school of nursingCurrent, unrestricted RN license in the state of employment (maintain a current copy on file at all times)Minimum Work Experience:Clinical experience as a Registered NursePrevious experience in a correctional healthcare environment preferredRequired Skills:Excellent critical thinking and clinical assessment skillsAbility to make independent decisions in a fast-paced environmentAssertive, empathetic, and able to provide objective patient careStrong interpersonal communication and customer service skillsBasic computer proficiencyAbility to function independently and collaboratively within a teamAbility to earn the respect and confidence of inmates and staff, demonstrating commitment to the facility’s missionMaintains active Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certificationFunctional DemandsAbility to pass all required health and security screeningsMay be required to work nights, weekends, and holidaysOn-call availability may be requiredOrganizational ExpectationsRepresent CFG Health Systems, LLC positively and professionallyPromote a culture of safety for patients and staff through proper identification, documentation, and preventionMaintain knowledge of current nursing standards, regulations, and best practicesAdhere to infection control policies, medication administration protocols, and controlled substance regulationsParticipate in ongoing quality improvement initiativesComplete facility-required orientation and trainingFollow OSHA and facility safety policies and proceduresUphold HIPAA and PREA regulationsPunctual and reliable for assigned/confirmed shiftsMaintain required security clearance for the assigned facilityJob ResponsibilitiesDeliver individualized nursing care to inmate patients according to nursing protocolsPerform assessments in various correctional settings, including intake, health care units, emergency situations, chronic care clinics, and medical unitsCollaborate with primary care providers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure timely, appropriate, and continuous careAdminister medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions as prescribedMonitor and report reactions to treatments, medications, and changes in physical or emotional statusProvide patient education, including medication guidance, self-care instructions, and discharge planningMaintain accurate, timely, and complete patient documentation in appropriate formatsPromote a therapeutic and professional environment for inmatesAdhere to infection control policies, medication administration standards, and regulatory guidelinesParticipate in ongoing staff development, training, and quality improvement initiativesPerform additional duties as assigned based on facility needs #J-18808-Ljbffr
