Join us! Job Summary and Qualifications One of the most beneficial aspects of working on Inpatient Rehabilitation is seeing the progression of our patients. We support patients for over 12 days from start to finish of their journey and consider both medical and functional needs. We ask questions such as, “How many stairs do you have in your home? Is your bedroom on the first floor or the second floor? Who cooks your meals, who does your laundry?” As a Resident II Nurse on Inpatient Rehabilitation, you will support patients in their “what’s next” journey—helping them regain independence after an illness or injury. You’ll provide medical acute care and use innovative tools like simulated home environments and cognitive rehab software to aid patients’ functional progress. You will educate patients and their families on medical progress and strategies to support regaining independence. You will work closely with physicians, PT, OT, Speech Therapy, and Case Management as part of the interdisciplinary team to assess progress and plan next steps. Average patient stays are 2–3 weeks, offering the opportunity to impact patients during their stay from admission to discharge. Responsibilities Patient Care Delivery: Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care through patient assessment, procedures, medication administration, and close monitoring of therapeutic responses. Apply established nursing models to guide practice. Documentation: Promptly document patient conditions, care provided, and responses in the medical record. Report changes in status to the provider and intervene as needed. Interdisciplinary Team Collaboration: Serve as a vital member of a diverse multidisciplinary team—medical providers, allied health professionals, and nursing support—working collaboratively to deliver holistic, patient-centered care. Patient Education: Educate patients on medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, possible side effects, follow-up measures, and more. Clinical Excellence: Engage in evidence-based best practices and continuous process improvement initiatives that enhance patient experience and outcomes, including safety rounding, communication fundamentals, Teach-Back, and related quality initiatives.
