Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse – Texas

Start Date: August 18, 2026

Location: Dallas, Texas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio; 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule; Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 8 RNs, and unit support; Night shift includes 1 charge nurse and 8 RNs

Highlights:

• 24-bed Progressive Care Unit specializing in cardiac and vascular patient populations
• Advanced cardiac cases including post-CABG, valve replacements, LVAD, and VATS with chest tubes
• Pre/post catheter lab and electrophysiology procedures including pacemaker/AICD, heart catheterizations, PCI, and TAVR
• Bedside procedures include paracentesis, thoracentesis, and PICC insertion
• Equipment: Baxter IV pumps, Hillrom beds, iMobile with Apple integration, telemetry monitoring
• EMR: Meditech

Requirements:

• Active Texas RN license or ability to obtain prior to start date
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Demonstrated knowledge of cardiac drips (Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Cardene, Cardizem) – essential
• Minimum 6 months of Progressive Care Unit experience strongly preferred
• Strong communication skills across patients and interdisciplinary teams
• Accountability and ownership of clinical practice
• Flexibility to float to Med-Surg/Telemetry and Orthopedic units as needed
• Royal blue scrubs required
