What the Client is Looking For

Required Skills & Experience

4-5+ years of hands-on Databricks experience
Strong SQL skills
Strong Python programming skills
Experience building and supporting data pipelines and enterprise data solutions
Ability to troubleshoot and triage data issues independently
Strong communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders
Able to work proactively with limited direction
Capable of leading projects when needed

Nice-to-Have Skills

These are not requirements but would be beneficial:

Azure Data Factory (ADF)
Additional Azure ecosystem experience
AI/ML data preparation experience

Manager noted that ADF is not currently used heavily but familiarity with it is advantageous.

The ideal candidate is:

A Databricks-heavy Data Engineer
Comfortable in a Lakehouse environment
Strong in SQL and Python
Retail and merchandising savvy
Able to communicate effectively with business partners
A proactive self-starter who can hit the ground running
Someone who can own problems rather than wait for direction
