This is a hybrid role with travel up to two weeks per month. Internally titled: Philanthropic Advisor. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Development, the Philanthropic Advisor will manage a portfolio of approximately 100125 major gift prospects and play a key role in advancing the Colleges most ambitious priorities./ppThis role is ideal for someone who thrives in a relationship-driven environment, enjoys travel and autonomy, and wants to be part of a collaborative advancement team during a pivotal campaign phase. Youll partner closely with faculty, leadership, and advancement colleagues to shape strategy, deepen donor engagement, and drive meaningful philanthropic investment./ph3Your Contribution Will Likely Include:/h3ulliManaging and executing strategies for a portfolio of 100125 major gift prospects capable of giving $100,000+/liliBuilding and advancing relationships through in-person visits, written communication, and digital outreach/liliDeveloping and implementing cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies to maximize donor engagement/liliMeeting and exceeding annual fundraising goals and performance metrics/liliPartnering with faculty and academic leaders to align donor interests with institutional priorities/liliServing as a trusted advisor and liaison across the HMC community, including alumni, parents, and volunteers/liliCollaborating across Advancement, including Alumni and Parent Relations, to enhance giving opportunities/liliStaying current on philanthropy trends and applying best practices to strengthen outcomes/liliEnsuring compliance with fundraising policies and donor management protocols/liliRepresenting HMC at events and engaging donors through travel, including evenings and weekends as needed/li/ulh3Experience You Will Bring:/h3ulliBachelors degree required/liliAt least five years of experience in major gifts fundraising within a medium-to-large development operation/liliProven track record of successfully soliciting and closing six- and seven-figure gifts/liliExperience working in higher education and/or a capital campaign environment strongly preferred/liliDemonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with high-net-worth individuals/liliStrong understanding of fundraising best practices and donor lifecycle management/liliAbility to independently manage a portfolio while contributing to a collaborative team environment/liliExcellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills/liliHigh level of discretion, judgment, and professionalism when handling confidential information/liliStrong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities/liliComfort working in a complex institutional environment with diverse stakeholders/liliWillingness and ability to travel up to two weeks per month and work occasional evenings/weekends/liliExperience or familiarity with entrepreneurial or innovation ecosystems (e.g., startups, VC) is a plus/li/ulh3Whats In It For You:/h3ulliSalary range: $135,000 $150,000 annually/liliOpportunity to own a region and portfolio with significant autonomy/liliExperience contributing to a major capital campaign at a top-tier institution/liliCollaborative, mission-driven environment within a highly respected college/liliAccess to the resources and community of The Claremont Colleges consortium/li/ulpEqual Opportunity Employer: Harvey Mudd College is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
