In addition, specific functions may change from time to time:/pulliPerforms all procedures designed within the CT Section of Radiology/liliDemonstrates competency and efficiency in the treatment, care of and interaction with all patients of any age group to include neo-natal, newborns, adolescents, adults and geriatrics/liliAssesses the patient, reviews charts for orders and lab results, completes data sheet and communicates with the Radiologist as to the availability and reason for the procedure/liliPrepares the patient for the procedure, answers any questions or directs questions to the Radiologist/liliResponsible for the prompt completion and accurate recording of exam begin and end time in the Radiology Information System (RIS) to ensure timely access to study by the radiologist/liliProvides a safe environment to include but not limited to radiation exposure, contrast administration and infection control guidelines/Universal Precautions/liliMaintains exceptional guest relations with patient, visitors, hospital staff and medical staff to include the use of AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You)/liliMonitors the timeliness of exams and quality of care based on established department goals, striving for continuous quality improvement/liliPerforms QA of exams (correct order, accurate/complete image annotation, correct laterality, and correct presentation state) prior to sending to radiologist for interpretation/liliActively participates in helping the department reach patient satisfaction goals by providing quality care, explaining procedures, and performing procedures in a timely manner/liliOther duties as assigned/li/ulh3Minimum Qualifications/h3pThe following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:/ph3Education and Formal Training:/h3ulliAssociates degree required/liliARRT Certified required/liliAdvanced CT Registry required within one year of hire date/liliAHA (American Heart Association) CPR Certification required/li/ulh3Work Experience:/h3ulli1-2 years preferred/liliExperienced in the treatment, care of and interacts with patients of all ages to include neo-natal, newborns, adolescents, pediatrics, adults and geriatrics preferred/li/ulh3Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:/h3ulliKnowledge of growth and development and the range of treatment needed for all age groups/li/ulh3Physical Requirements:/h3ulliAbility to communicate orally/liliManual dexterity and visual acuity/liliMobility to assume awkward positions and respond to emergency situations/liliAbility to stand and walk for long periods of time/liliAbility to bend and lift 100 lbs and/or carry objects up to 50 lbs/liliPosition may involve skin, eye, mucous membrane, or parenteral contact with blood or other potentially infectious material/li/ulpRequired Licenses and Certifications/ppARRT - American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists/ppCape Fear Valley Health System is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/Disability/Veteran/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity/p/div
