ROLE OVERVIEW As a Server Assistant at Hook & Reel, you are the bridge between the dining room and the kitchen. You will be instrumental in helping to create a smooth and enjoyable dining experience. This position is perfect for someone who loves interacting with people and thrives in a lively, fast-paced environment. Duties and Responsibilities: Greet all guests promptly and warmly upon arrival. Answer guest questions regarding the menu and Hook & Reel brand. Provide accurate information regarding menu, pricing, hours, promotions, and policies. Listen attentively to guests to ensure their needs are met. Assist with side work and opening/closing tasks. Observe and monitor table turnover by taking note of occupied, dirty or clean tables. Support the front-of-house team in resetting tables quickly to seamlessly transition tables to guests. Support the front-of-house team in running food quickly to ensure there are no gaps in the guests’ experience. Inform management of large parties, special requests, or guest concerns. Communicate clearly and concisely with the kitchen staff and management regarding allergy orders. Maintain a positive, energetic, and hospitality-focused attitude at all times. Multi-task and balance between bar and dining room orders. Be a team player, assisting other team members whenever needed to ensure guest satisfaction. Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return. Additional responsibilities as assigned. Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours per shift). Ability to lift and carry up to 25-50 pounds. Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive movements in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work in varying conditions, including heat, cold, and noise. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Essential Functions: Prior restaurant experience is not necessary but preferred. Hold a valid State-Mandated Food Handlers Certification, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards (where applicable). Hold a valid State-Mandated Alcohol Handlers Certification, ensuring compliance with local regulatory authority health and safety standards (where applicable). Strong attention to detail.
