Sr. Automation Test Engineer - Playwright with Typescript

About the role As a Sr. Automation Test Engineer – Playwright with Typescript, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and optimizing automated testing solutions that ensure quality, reliability, and scalability across enterprise technology platforms. You will be a valued member of a cross functional engineering team and collaborate closely with developers, QA, and platform stakeholders to deliver high quality software outcomes. Responsibilities Develop and maintain robust automated test frameworks using Playwright and Typescript Design, develop, and implement scalable automation solutions to improve test coverage and efficiency Write and execute simple to medium SQL queries to validate data accuracy and integrity Analyze, debug, and troubleshoot automated test failures, identifying root causes and recommending solutions Collaborate with cross functional teams to understand enterprise technology stacks and testing requirements Participate in code reviews, providing feedback to improve code quality, maintainability, and testability Continuously improve automation tools, processes, and best practices to enhance overall testing effectiveness Work model At Cognizant, we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible and support a healthy work life balance through our wellbeing programs. Qualifications 5–7 years of experience in a test automation development role using Playwright and Typescript Strong experience designing and maintaining automation frameworks for enterprise applications Working knowledge of SQL for data validation and integrity checks Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) Familiarity with Agile methodologies and collaborative development practices Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast paced team environment Strong communication and collaboration skills Additional qualifications that will help you stand out Experience using GitHub Copilot within Visual Studio Code Understanding of prompt and context engineering concepts Exposure to multiple AI interaction modes such as plan, agent, and ask Experience optimizing test automation strategies for large scale enterprise platforms Cognizant will only consider applicants for this position who are legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
