Academic Director

Job Description

MIU City University Miami is seeking an experienced and highly qualified Academic Director to join our academic leadership team.

\n

We are looking for a professional with strong experience in higher education, academic management, faculty development, curriculum oversight, and accreditation compliance , with the ability to lead academic initiatives and ensure the quality of our educational programs.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

Academic Planning & Faculty Coordination

\n

\n
• Plan and coordinate on-campus and online course schedules before each semester.
\n
• Monitor Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) at key academic milestones.
\n
• Review course syllabi and academic materials prior to each semester.
\n
• Lead faculty orientation and coordinate syllabi, materials, examinations, and schedules.
\n

Accreditation & Academic Compliance

\n

\n
• Maintain and update faculty records in compliance with accreditation and licensing requirements.
\n
• Develop and lead three faculty in-service training sessions annually .
\n
• Maintain and update the Faculty Development Plan for each faculty member.
\n
• Participate in accreditation visits, inspections, and institutional reviews.
\n

Faculty Leadership & Evaluation

\n

\n
• Organize Program Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings for each academic field.
\n
• Supervise bi-monthly meetings for online and on-campus faculty.
\n
• Coordinate and process faculty evaluations each semester.
\n
• Participate in the recruitment, interviewing, and selection of new faculty members.
\n
• Maintain a qualified faculty pool for each academic field.
\n

Academic Development & Institutional Projects

\n

\n
• Support the development and continuous improvement of academic materials, curricula, and study plans for existing and new programs.
\n
• Participate in the development of the Campus Effectiveness Plan (CEP) and Self-Study Narrative.
\n
• Contribute to the University's Faculty Research Plan.
\n

• Experience in higher education academic administration or academic leadership .
\n
• Experience coordinating and developing faculty.
\n
• Knowledge of academic quality assurance and accreditation processes.
\n
• Strong organizational, analytical, and leadership skills.
\n
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
\n
• Ability to manage multiple academic projects, deadlines, and stakeholders.
\n
• Experience with curriculum development and academic program improvement.
\n
• Strong English communication skills.
\n
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and international academic environment.
