Systems & Technology Engineering Manager

Job Description Johnson & Johnson MedTech is recruiting for a Systems & Technology Engineering Manager located in San Lorenzo, PR. This role reports to the Site Senior Technical Operations Manager and oversees a Process Engineering group. Key Responsibilities Supervises the technical support associates. Provides day‑to‑day tactical guidance to the group in problem identification, root‑cause analysis, and problem resolution. Coordinates continuous improvement and productivity improvement activities. Prepares, discusses, documents, sets goals and measures the above activities in agreement with the PDM process. Interfaces with other San Lorenzo and external corporate functional groups to ensure that the facility’s goals, objectives, and requirements are met, including project schedules, product/process requirements and GMP/ISO compliance. Interfaces directly with Business Unit Managers and Staff Managers to ensure that manufacturing operations and projects receive effective technical support. Reviews capital‑expense forecasts and addresses variance issues. Receives tactical and strategic guidance from the Manager, keeping him or her well informed of all major problems, improvement activities and potential barriers. Has signature authority for ADAPTV, ECCS, ICO’s, protocols, completion reports and revises feasibility studies and development protocols. Performs a variety of other related duties assigned by the Site Senior Technical Operations Manager. Represents Ethicon during internal, J&J Corporate and FDA audits of the validation process. Complies with all environmental, safety and occupational health policies (e.g., ISO 14001 & OSHAS 18001). Communicates business‑related issues or opportunities to the next management level. Follows all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices. For those who supervise staff, ensures that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all necessary resources are available and in good condition. Ensures personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State and local regulations, policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Eight to ten years of applicable experience, or six years of experience in process engineering. A master’s degree is desirable. Experience And Skills Availability to work various work schedules, including shifts, 12‑hour days, weekends and holidays. Bilingual (Spanish & English). Six Sigma certification highly desirable. Excellent oral and written communication skills. PR Engineers in Training (EIT) and/or PR Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. Advanced computer skills and use of software applications. Other Position may be based in San Lorenzo or Manatí Facility, subject to hiring work center requirement. Travel of approximately 20% required; must be able to travel between Ethicon locations (Manati and San Lorenzo) and other locations as required. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. The position is eligible for mileage reimbursement for personal car usage as per JNJ Global Travel, Meetings and Expense Policy.
