As a Software Engineer Lead within PNC's Technology - Automation & Platform organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Dallas, TX, Strongsville, OH, or Birmingham, AL.As a Software Engineer Lead, your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:- Lead end-to-end Automation and Document AI initiatives, from solution design to production deployment.- Architect and develop AI-powered document processing solutions (classification, extraction, validation).- Drive adoption of best practices in coding, CI/CD, code quality, and security (e.g., SonarQube).- Design and implement scalable, cloud-native applications on Kubernetes/OpenShift (OCP).- Collaborate closely with business, product, and architecture teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to automation and AI engineering teams.- Ensure compliance with banking, lending, and regulatory standards.- Evaluate and integrate emerging tools and technologies in automation, GenAI, and Document AI.Candidates must have the following proficiencies:Programming Languages & Frameworks- Python (expert level)- Django or similar Python web frameworks- JavaScript (for UI integration or frontend orchestration)Tools & Platforms- PyCharm (or equivalent Python IDE)- Sonar / SonarQube for code quality and security scanning- OpenShift (OCP) / Kubernetes for containerized deployments- CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practicesArchitecture & Automation- Strong understanding of automation architecture, microservices-based systems, and APIs- Experience building document-centric automation solutions (PDFs, forms, statements, applications)Databases- Experience working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, or similar)- Familiarity with schema design, performance tuning, and transactional systemsPNC is an in-office company that fosters a supportive culture where employees can thrive and achieve balance.
