About the Role We are looking for a lawyer to join our team to lead our privacy function. You will play a crucial role as our service offering expands internationally; you will advise the engineering and product teams as we continue to interleave privacy into everything Accordance does, have ownership of the corporate privacy function, and negotiate with customers on thorny privacy issues such as our Data Processing Addendum. You will also play a role on our commercial team by negotiating platform agreements in support of our sales/go-to-market team. This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use an in-person work model and offer relocation assistance to new employees. Responsibilities Refine, update, and adapt our key privacy agreements (the Data Processing Addendum and Privacy Policy) to ensure compliance with evolving laws and frameworks as the platform grows and expands Negotiate with customers on our Data Processing Addendum and, more generally, on our commercial agreements Collaborate with product and engineering teams to bring an EU‑based version of Accordance to market Conduct impact assessments related to key vendors, lead training and awareness initiatives to ensure employees understand privacy obligations, and support incident investigations where required Qualifications A law degree from an accredited law school Admitted to practice law and in good standing in at least one jurisdiction and able to practice in California 3+ years of law firm and/or in‑house experience Strong background dealing with data privacy, including with customers based in Europe Experience negotiating SaaS and/or general technology, IP, and commercial agreements Ability to think creatively, function independently, and work proactively in a fast‑paced environment Accordance is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, national origin, disability, age, genetic information, veteran status, marital status, pregnancy or related condition, or any other basis protected by law. #J-18808-Ljbffr Alumni Ventures
